The specific objective of the study includes to establish a relationship between the references of students in XII grade to the 21 variables identified by us. Through factor analysis we would identify selected variables and study each of its relationship with the percentage secured in XII standard. We would also like to provide suggestion and feedback to students, teachers and schools on aspects that can help them increase their ability to absorb and impart knowledge, culminating in higher examination score and a better future.
Research Problem The amount of stress on class XII students is increasing year by year with a plethora of competitive exams, academic expectations and changing grading systems. Our robber is to identify and quantify the various factors which lead to decline in student performance. Also what can be done to reduce the stress levels among students. Hypothesis Regression will be performed in order to determine their relationship with the dependent variable.
In our study : Dependent variable : Percentage of marks in Class 12 board exams Independent variable : Each factor selected post factor analysis The null and alternate hypotheses for the regression are as follow: HO: ;3… = 138 P]: Regression coefficient of the Jet factor. The null hypothesis states that none of the variables affect the value of the pendent variable, I. E. Percentage/ marks. Hence regression will be performed to prove our null hypothesis wrong Research Design: Sampling The method to be used for selection of sample for our research is Non-probabilistic Sampling Technique.
Non-probabilistic sampling is any sampling method where referred to as ‘out of coverage’/undercover’), or where the probability of selection can’t be accurately determined. It involves the selection of elements based on assumptions regarding the population of interest, which forms the criteria for selection. Hence, because the selection of elements is non-random, non-probabilistic impaling does not allow the estimation of sampling errors. Information about the relationship between sample and population is limited, making it difficult to extrapolate from the sample to the population. Thus the sample group appears to grow like a rolling snowball. As the sample builds up, enough data is gathered to be useful for research.
This sampling technique is often used in hidden populations which are difficult for researchers to access. As sample members are not selected from a sampling frame, snowball samples are subject to numerous biases. For example, people who have many friends are more likely to be recruited into the sample, but a variation of snowball sampling called respondent-driven sampling has been shown to allow researchers to make asymptotically unbiased estimates from snowball samples under certain conditions which was the case in our data collection part.
Snowball sampling and respondent-driven sampling also allows researchers to make estimates about the social network connecting the hidden population.
